What to do in Carcassonne

Diving into medieval art

During a stay at the Hôtel de la Cité, and even if the comfort offered within its walls is more than enough to make you want to stay, you might wonder what to do in Carcassonne.
There are plenty of activities available in and around the town, starting with the Medieval Camp. A reproduction that plunges you back into medieval times in the heart of the Cité, a scene of life with representations of different trades from the Middle Ages. There are also workshops to help children discover the arts of the period.

Head to the Cabrespine chasm for some underground tree climbing. You'll find zip-lines, monkey bridges and wall climbing in an original way, since it's a cave adventure.

More exotic, the Australian Park immerses visitors in Australian culture. With its typically Oceanic fauna, young and old alike can discover koalas, wallabies, birds of prey and kangaroos.
